About Me
A focused and creative visionary who is hardworking and eager to learn new skills. A strong interest within black history and culture. This has been shown through my current project, as I have been able to combine my love of family and culture within my own pattern cutting practice. The concept of my main project was derived from the lives, clothing and love story of my grandparents who were a part of the Windrush Generation. As an individual who has an appreciation for fashion; my research of their lives led me to examining in great detail the type of clothing worn within the 1940s/1950s era. I was inspired by their sustainability concept when considering the longevity, timelessness and pattern cutting developed during that time period. I have a good understanding of historical and contemporary pattern cutting to include the use of digital soft wears such as Lectra and Clo3D. I have also been published in Vogue.com USA and selected for the UK Harper's Bazaar X Fashion Crossover London print Editorial Magazine- September 2020 Award.
